Jose S. Castelo a highly motivated professional individual with more than 30 years of experience and knowledge in Residential and Commercial Real Estate, Insurance & Mortgage. He is always ready to be at your service.

EXPERIENCE:

1969-Jose S. Castelo immigrated to the United States from Sao Miguel, the largest island in the Azores, Portugal. He started in the garment industry at Calvin Clothing as a floor boy, worked his way to Supervisor and to an assistant vice-president of production. His part time jobs, after a full days work, included landscaping and house painting.
1972-Jose S. Castelo began selling modular homes.
1973-Jose S. Castelo obtained his Real Estate license and worked for a local Real Estate Company for 5 years.
1978-Jose opened his own Real Estate business on 1815 Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford, MA as Castelo Real Estate
1981-Jose S. Castelo obtained his Insurance License and later that year opened Castelo Insurance Agency. This is an addition to his growing Real Estate Company-Castelo Real Estate.
1984-Castelo Real Estate expanded to a branch office on 337 Rivet Street New Bedford, MA.
1984- New Homes by Castelo, Inc. was formed.
1994-Castle Mortgage was added to Jose's other companies and together these are known as The Castelo Group, which was the first one stop home service agency in the Southcoast area.
1991-More expansion is needed and the Southend office moves to 701 Dartmouth Street, South Dartmouth to service clients in Dartmouth as well as the Southend of New Bedford.
2001-The Castelo Group sees need for another market base and opens an office in Fall River to serve that community as well.
2005- combines former Resendes Insurance Agency in New Bedford and Fall River with Castelo Insurance in New Bedford and Fall River.
2005- purchases former Flint Floor Covering building on Pleasant Street, remodels and renovates.
2006-moves all Fall River combined offices to 1052 Pleasant Street, Fall River which becomes the new Fall River home of The Castelo Group: ERA Castelo Real Estate, Inc., Castelo Insurance, Castle Mortgage.

The Castelo Group, an affiliate of ERA, (a national and International Real Estate organization) is also known as ERACastelo Real Estate and a Top 100 Company of the ERA franchise.

PHILOSOPHY:
Jose knows that with honest hard work you can achieve any goal. Jose is not a "pushy" salesperson but rather helps a well-informed customer / client make a decision that is to their benefit. "I don't believe in selling, I believe in helping and informing people". He always attempts to give his clients/customers as much information as possible.

PERSONAL:
As well as being a hard working businessman, Jose is also a sincere family man. Alzira, his wife, is Jose's right arm as Office Administrator of The Castelo Group. Together, they have two adult children, Maryann and Joseph who are also active in the family oriented business, as well as a grandson, Jason. Jose has been very active in the community as a sponsor of several sports and Little League teams throughout our area. His annual fundraising picnic, which supports not only Muscular Dystrophy and other local charities, has been successful for over fourteen years.

OCCUPATIONAL OBJECTIVE:
As a member of a multi-lingual community, Jose's goal is to help those of Portuguese heritage but also those new to this country. He stresses the future of our children and the importance of education. His offices offer multi language speaking Associates. His Associates are given access to continuing Real Estate education courses in order to best service our community.
